2012 Rule Change Year

Remember that 2012 is the age change year for Softball in Canada.  Juniors (U23) will now be U21 and Midgets (U19) will now be U18 (in the 'A' and 'B' classifications for Softball Alberta).  Softball Alberta will maintain a U19 category for the 'C' and 'D' classifications for Provincial Playoffs.

Crystl Bustos' "Got Bustos" Hitting Clinic

Softball Alberta is excited to announce our first ever "Got Bustos" Hitting Clinic! The clinic is offered to all players aged 12 and older as of January 1, 2012.

Pre-registration is highly suggested as spaces are limited to 40 participants per session. Registration will be open from December 12, 2011 at 8AM until February 15, 2012 at 4:30PM. Registrations will NOT be accepted prior to December 12 at 8AM. Payment will not be put thorugh until January 9, 2012 so please ensure any cheques submitted are not dated any earlier than January 1, 2012.

Softball Alberta is thrilled to have Crystl Bustos for an extra clinic! This is offered to any players (18+), parents, or coaches who want to learn more about hitting techniques.

2013 Canada Summer Games & U21 International Softball Challenge

For 2013 the age requirements have changed and will now both be U21 (born in 1992 or later) events. Please keep checking the website for more information and for when tryouts will begin. The Boy's U21 International Softball Challenge is going to be held in Saskatoon, SK on July 9-14, 2013 and the Girl's Canada Summer Games will be held in Quebec where dates are still to be determined.

Softball Alberta and Softball Canada are pleased to announce that it has released the first of a series of coaching guides. These Coaching Guides have been created by Softball Canada to increase the knowledge of coaches and improve the development of players.
