Tournament Sanctions
In order for your tournament to be recognized by Softball Alberta, and
for your membership benefits to stand, tournament organizers should contact
us for a Tournament Sanction. For a cost of $25, your participants can
be ensured that their insurance and affiliation with Softball Alberta
is valid. This also entitles you to a posting of your tournament in our
office, as well as on our website. To post your tournament to our website, please email us and include the following:
- Tournament Date
- Location
- Category
- Fee
- Contact
- Softball Alberta Tournament Sanction
Number
If you are not affiliated with Softball Alberta, but still wish to sanction your tournament for your attending teams, the web posting, and use of Softball Alberta umpires, the cost is $50.
**Please note that it will be up to the discretion of Softball Alberta whether or not Tournament Sanctions will be issued to all Tournaments in the month of July.**
Insurance While Travelling
Are you travelling to another province, or even out of country for a tournament? If your team and players are affiliated with Softball Alberta, their insurance benefits will still be applicable. It is however, advisable that players, coaches, or others involved purchase additional medical insurance if travelling out of Canada. Contact us if you require more information.
Travel Permits
Some tournaments require teams to bring a Travel Permit; if required, please do not hesitate to contact us and we can provide your team with a Travel Permit. We will need to know the location you are travelling to, the complete list of the delegation that is travelling, as well as the dates you will be travelling. Please advise Softball Alberta at least 2-3 weeks prior to departure in order to have the permit sent out on time.
