Letter Of Intent
Bonds for Western and Canadian Championships
The Letter of Intent is for all disciplines; fastpitch and slo-pitch. A bond cheque must accompany the form for any team
wishing to participate in a
Post-Provincial Championship. The Bond amount is as follows:
Western Canadian Championship $500
Canadian Championship $1,000
The payment will be processed & returned to the team after they do not qualify to attend OR after the actual Western Canadian or Canadian Championship is completed. The bond shall be forfeited if your team cancels out of attending the Post-Provincial Championship after qualifying. If another team cannot be found as a replacement, the bond will be used to pay the fine levied by the Western Canadian Softball Association or Softball Canada for canceling out of the Championship. In the past, we have had teams that would not declare their intention to attend until just prior to the championship. This does not allow Softball Alberta enough time to include the “extra” teams that may want to attend and may be able to, based on the WCSA or CASA pro-rata system.
SIMPLY MEANING: Iif one of the other provinces opts NOT to send additional teams, Alberta needs to be prepared in order that we may do so.
Please Note: The Letter Of Intent requires TWO signatures.
This form must be completed & submitted along with payment to Softball Alberta by June 1st.
Thank you for your diligence in this matter. Failure to return this form on time may mean fewer teams attending
the Western and Canadian Championships.

Host Hotel Commitment:
All teams attending Canadian Championships are required to stay at the host hotel. (EXCP: Slo-Pitch Canadaina Championships) This means, if any form of paid accommodation is used by any team member, it must be the host hotel, otherwise the team is in default and will be fined $1,000 by Softball Canada.
Softball Alberta will use the team bond process that is already in place for participation requirements so an ‘additional’ bond of $1000 is not required. Teams are still required to fill out the “Letter of Intent” and have it and their bond submitted to Softball Alberta by June 1st.
